Saying Good-Bye to Khabarovsk
| Dear friends,
We had a good day yesterday at church, our final Sunday here. We had a big all-church lunch afterwards. I've been teaching in 2nd Timothy these last few times, which is appropriate to our transfer of leadership and departing this church. I laid hands on Sergei and his wife Natasha and prayed over then, ordaining Sergei before everyone here. We also had one final baptism on June 25th, the Sunday before. I had the priviledge of baptizing 5 more new believers this time. I finally was able to do it in the Amur River too! It's been very hard to say good-bye to our "spiritual children" and this work we've poured our lives into for 6 years. But we know this work belongs to God, not us. All that Rebecca and I can say is we have been so priviledged to have been given this opportunity to serve the Lord here in this capacity. It's been the best years of our lives. The Lord has blessed this work greatly. I thus have confidence Sergei will do well. We're also consoled by the fact that, in August, we'll again be pastoring in another city in this country of Russia that we love so much. We'll be flying to Moscow and then to Oregon and California from July 6th - Aug. 5th. We look forward to seeing you then. Love in Christ, rcurran@mail.ru |
