| October 14, 1997 Dear SonLight Family, Many changes have occurred since our last correspondence. I am happy to announce I have been promoted from Community Outreach and First Step manager to Director of the Men's Shelter (Director of Outreach Ministries to be more exact). This promotion occurred in July of 1997. In addition, earlier in that same month my wife, Grace, was hired to be the Food Services Supervisor. She is also still employed with California Highway Patrol, so she is quite busy. The Sunday Service is still going and growing strong. The gospel is proclaimed and souls are not just being won to Christ they are being admonished and nurtured in Christ, to teach all how to walk in Him, by the enduring Word of God that they might grow up in their salvation. The Mobile Rescue Vehicle and Team is rolling along ministering God's love to the least the last and the lost. This year we are targeting a certain community with the MRT to minister food boxes to the residents of a 250 residential apartment complex. In addition we will pass out over a thousand food boxes and have our traditional festivities here at the Mission on November 27, 1997. The Men's Fellowship (After Care Program) for graduates of the program continues to be a blessing to all. November 16, 1997 we will experience a "Times of Refreshing" celebration here at the Mission. The Lord placed upon my heart to bring all the staff members and program members as well as volunteers to come together and seek the lord's face in prayer, praise, preaching, and testimonials "so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord'. It is a golden opportunity to let our clients see the people that work behind the scene and allows our staff to let their light shine. The services will begin at 10:00am and conclude at 4:00pm. I would like to thank you, my SonLight family, for your continued support and encouragement these past two years. We are entering into the holiday season and as always we are in need of can food donations. Thank you again for your support and pray for us as we pray for you, our SonLight family.
