Around mid August we received an invitation from Carol Anne McGuire to join her and 7 other schools around the world in an amazing collaborative project. This is what she told us.... "...the project is named "Rock Our World" because one part of the project is a progressive music composition that gets developed with Garage Band as it moves from class to class around the planet. The students will be collaborating to create 8 original songs that have been composed on 4 different continents (maybe more)! Each class will do written assignments on themselves, their family, school and community. Digital pictures will be taken. Along with the written work and pictures, each class will start a 30 second Garage Band song. (i.e., Drums) |
|
That song will be sent to another country. The new country will add another track (i.e. keyboards) and will pass it on to another country each Friday. Every class will be adding the same category of instrument to the track, and every Friday will be passing it to another country for their addition. This is the road our music must travel... By time the song makes it's journey, it will have been added to by each class. We should have 8 new songs, as well as some interesting facts and stories from children around the world! (The kids will also be writing a cookbook together with all their favorite recipes!)" |
